Different Genres of Music Videos: R'n'B

R'n'B or rhythm and blues is a genre of popular African-American music that originated in the 1940's. The term was originally used by record companies to describe recordings marketed to urban African Americans at a time when "urbane, rocking, jazz based music with a heavy insistent beat" was becoming more popular.

This music video has the group uniquely dressed in, bright, eye-catching, colours. Their makeup and hair is also big, unique and bright. These girls are seen to have much "swag" and "style", which relates well to this R'n'B music video.

The back drop is graffitied art, and there is paint and water falling from this. The paint and water make everything more dramatic, and the dancers slide in it. The dancers moves are edited to slow motion when they are up in they air, which adds impact.
